Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 19 August 2025 — Last updated: 19 August 2025

Short summary: These Terms describe the rules for using Askwave. Use the service responsibly — by using Askwave you agree to follow these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the service.

Using the service

Askwave provides tools to create public sessions, collect questions from participants, and allow session creators to respond. Participants may submit questions anonymously. You must not use the service for unlawful activities or to harass, threaten, or infringe others' rights.

Sharing your link responsibly

When you create a session on Askwave, you receive a unique link that allows others to submit questions. It is your responsibility to share this link in a responsible manner. Only share your link with audiences who understand the purpose of your session and who will use it appropriately. Do not share your link in contexts where it may be abused or misused. You are responsible for managing who has access to your session link.

User content

Users are responsible for their content. You retain ownership of content you post. By submitting content you grant Askwave a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the service. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Media and videos

Offline handling

Askwave does not currently provide built-in video upload or hosting. Hosts typically record and manage videos offline and may link to externally hosted media (for example, a public URL). We may store references or metadata for externally linked media when provided by a host. If we add an upload/hosting feature in the future, we will post updated terms and notices explaining processing and storage.

Moderation

Session creators can moderate incoming questions using available tools. We may also take action, including content removal or account suspension, to enforce these Terms or protect the service.

Acceptable use

  • Do not transmit unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.
  • Do not attempt to access or interfere with other users' data.
  • Respect others' privacy and intellectual property rights.

Zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior

⚠️ Strictly Prohibited

Askwave maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. Violations will result in immediate and permanent account termination without warning.

The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in permanent removal from the platform:

  • Harassment and bullying: Any form of targeted harassment, intimidation, stalking, or bullying of other users.
  • Hate speech: Content promoting hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Threats and violence: Threats of physical harm, violence, or self-harm; promotion of terrorism or violent extremism.
  • Sexual content and exploitation: Sexually explicit content, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual solicitation, or exploitation of any kind.
  • Privacy violations: Sharing private information (doxing), non-consensual intimate imagery, or impersonation.
  • Illegal activity: Content promoting or facilitating illegal activities, fraud, or sale of illegal goods/services.
  • Spam and manipulation: Excessive spam, automated abuse, manipulation of the platform, or attempts to circumvent bans.

Askwave reserves the right to:

  • Immediately suspend or permanently ban accounts violating this policy.
  • Remove objectionable content without notice.
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.
  • Cooperate with legal investigations and provide user data in response to valid legal requests.
  • Take technical measures to prevent banned users from accessing the platform.

While we provide anonymous question submission, users are not anonymous to Askwave. We retain technical information including IP addresses, device identifiers, and other metadata to enforce these Terms and maintain platform safety. Anonymity is not a shield for abuse.

If you encounter objectionable content or abusive behavior, please report it immediately to safety@askwave.fun.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts or access for violations of these Terms or other reasons. Users may close accounts; account closure may not immediately remove copies from backups or third-party services.

Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement

If you access Askwave through an Apple device or downloaded the app from the App Store, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the application.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall take precedence with respect to Apple App Store distributed applications.
